Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give a little update since the rest of the team is not so interested. It is now December
as you probably already figured out and things are getting busy. Just last Friday Calvary Chapel Jinja had its first ever Pastor's Wives Conference. Most of the women from our village churches attended and got blessed with the Word and some new challenges as they realize their position. Secondly the Youth group also had a function where about 90 kids came and heard the Word and had a lot of fun. As I mentioned in the title Christmas is in the air and the Choir is firing up after months of nothing and are preparing for the outreaches in the prison. So three times a week now you can hear Christmas Carols throughout place.

Pastors Conference
Just wanted to write and share with all of you
that we're in the middle of our quarterly pastors
conference here at CC Jinja. We are blessed this
time around to have about 31 guys in attendance from
just about everywhere. Specifically we have a group
from CC Entebbe, CC Fort Portal, A group from Namulanda
and our own village pastors. It's a three day conference
so expect more blogs to follow. By the way pray for us.

Ministry Fair
Just last Sunday the 7th of June, Calvary Jinja had a Ministry fair. While
most churches have whole teams of people who put them together we had our
very own Kelli O'hea working and slaving over 15 different ministry info
and sign up sheets, not to mention countless balloons. So what was the purpose?
It was to get the people in the church to doing something, getting them active. Out of the eleven ministries represented that day all of them had at least one person sign up. So thanks Kelli for making it happen, the church really needed it. To see if more from Kelli's perspective check out her blog on the links to your right.

Wow, time sure goes by fast when your not blogging. Many of you faithfully keep checking this blog to see new stuff and sadly you been found wanting more. So this is the apology
blog for everyone.
So what has happened with the church
After the construction projects in 2008 we changed the direction of our entire service. In a way it felt like the church itself was reborn and a whole new creation began. I happen to be a fan of change. Some people run from it while I like to think I run towards it.
So listed below are the changes
*The church changed the front to the back and made a nice veranda
for fellowship
* In March 2008 it was decided that the church would change from
traditional worship with a choir and local drums to a worship team.
The worship team is Led by Ryan McCabe and he is accompanied by a keyboardist
a bass player and two back up singers and some Congos. While the leader of
the team is American his music is a mix of Local and English praise songs.
*The Calvary Moment a 15 minute devotional which airs 5 days a week is currently on a
local radio station called Bamboo FM. The weekday program Mon thru Thurs is the midweek bible
study repackaged for 4 mornings while the Friday show is a study in James led by Ryan McCabe
*The staff recently went through the Biblical Self-confrontation Course
Well as things come to me I will give an update for what’s going on
blog for everyone.

The Construction goes on
Here at Calvary we are moving on in our construction with the another phase of construction which included the moving of the
entrance to the church to another place along the road. We've been noticing our vehicles move a bit too close to the children and was putting them in danger. Another problem we had was the gate was way to close to the personal residences. So by moving the gate we have expanded the fellowship are of the church by 3 times. here are some pics

The construction continues
At Calvary Chapel things continue to boom in the area of construction. So what has happened so far?
Phase 1 we broke out the back wall and put the double doors to open up the back of the church
Phase 2 the foundation of the church was extended 15 feet
phase 3( in process) anothe additional two feet were added onto the church and steps were placed, along with an easy access ramp
Phase 4(also in process) To make room for the addition of the church we have adjusted the existing internal fence line to provide space for the congregants and their children on sunday.
Phase 5(also in process)The church windows at the current have the very mosquito screening that existed back in 1998. Obviously being that they are so old they are rust colored and filled with dead bugs. To make the church look even better we have removed the screens and will replace them increasing the amount of light that comes into the church
Well these are all the things that have been happening around Calvary. Please keep in prayer for us that all the things that are need will be accomplished
